Q: best small digital camera with image stabilization
Submitted By: anon, 312 days, 10 hours, 46 minutes ago
i'm going on a trip in 6 weeks and want to get a new digital camera. the number of cameras is insane, though. i like the idea of image stabilization because it seems to help compensate in low light situations. anyone have any thoughts on a good brand (at the least) or specific model? i've been looking at canon, nikon and sony so far and they all seem good. cnet rates them all around 7.8

The canon line of powershot elphs, 450 or the current 600, are great, the battery life is nice b/c of the digic II processor and the price tag of $299 to $350 isnt too bad, plus SD memory is getting dirt cheap. The panasonics seem to have good image stabilization but crappy flash. And if you aren't looking at something thin, look at the SI2 by canon, great zoom

This camera is the best small camera for pocket shooting. Check out this fantastic review at Ken Rockwell's website, he's an amazing photographer who loves this little camera.
