PDA or MP3?

I'm not sure how mp3 player works into the small business owner necessity, but at the moment all roads point to Motorola's Q for a top notch com unit. The product launch was less than stellar, but they're better devices than the blackberry... sporting greater functionality with less likelyhood of the company going under from patent litigation.

iMate JAM

Look at the iMate series, particularly the JAM. It's a fully functional PDA running on the Windows Mobile platform, but it also has a GSM phone built in. They're pretty compact, the only problem is the high prices! A few of the models that iMate makes (though not the JAM) also have slide-out keyboards, which might be a good idea if you're going to be doing a lot of typing. When I owned one I was never happy with the character recognition I got from the stylus.

Treo 650w

The 700w may run windows mobile, but the 650's usability is much easier, and the frontend is much better. Menu's are crystal clear. I also love that I can use my Slingbox with it.
