I found myself in the same predicament and have not found a good answer. Depending on your location, I have found larger stores (like Seductions in Toronto) have a great variety, and staff is knowledgeable and can recommend based on your preferences. It did not work for us, as the recommendation was still not very good, but it might work out for you.
