Q: Removing Gum

I was wearing a fine, white, dress shirt on a bus and when I get up, I realize I just sat with gum where my back rests against the seat. What's a good way to remove it?

I've used Goo Gone and Gonzo on two occasions without problems. It was gum on both occasions on the pants of an Armani black wool suit and a grey wool suit. Worked fine, but perhaps because the fabric was dark colored. YMMV

Vinegar

Warm vinegar in the microwave them pour on the gum. Wait a minute or two then gently scrape the gum off with a butter knife. Repeat. The key here is that the vinegar must be warm to hot.

Freeze it

There's always the old method of freezing it with an ice cube and then when it's hardened, chip it off.

Stick the article of clothing in the freezer for 4 to 8 hours. Take it out and chip off the gum.
