Q: Is there anyway to train birds not to poop everywhere?

My old roomates bird kept dirting my place up...
Is there anyway to teach them not to?

What kind of bird is it? You absolutely can train a bird only to go in his cage, it takes some time and patience. When the bird is out, observe him carefully. Our cockatoo will make little squeak noises and walk to the end of the bed/couch and start to lift his tail feathers. Thats a good sign to grab him and put him in the cage. A little praise of "good boy" after he goes and you are off. After only a couple weeks our cockatoo is fully trained.
