Q: Is Bush willfully destructive or just woefully incompetent?
Submitted By: piznut, 312 days, 11 hours, 27 minutes ago
One thing is clear. George Bush is the worst president in the history if the US. What is not so clear is whether this is a result of general misanthropy or of sheer ineptitude.
Please try not to post duplicate answers... if you see an answer that you want to post, just add a vote to it and you can add a note as well. Thank You

People everywhere are bashing Bush for this that and everything. I do not understand why people bash our President so much. Our society today has grown so dependent on the federal government. And the federal goverment has grown too large. I am sure by now the founding fathers have rolled over in their graves because this is not how they set up the government. The goverment was setup for the people by the people. Now its for the fed gov for the fed gov. People need to start looking to their state and local governments for the things they need/want. Thats all I have to say on this.

I have an IQ above 160. I grew up in a democratic household and was sprayed with liberal propaganda in college. I have since taken the time to understand what it means to be a liberal and found that it is unethical. I traveled to Iraq before the war. I met the population, spoke with the people. The vast majority lived in a constant state of terror because at any time they or a loved one could be taken, tortured, raped, sodomized and killed for without provocation. It is unethical to promote such a vile and disgusting regime. I stand for the president. I am very sorry that that the uniformed masses required more reasons to remove the butcher from his killing grounds. I am not naive enough to believe we moved on Iraq because of the horrors that were taking place, but I will accept any reason that coincides with life, humanity and civil rights. George W. Bush stands for a smaller government, with the power in the hands of the people. Think of a government where we decide what is right and wrong instead of corporations. If you feel you must disparage the president then by all means state your opinions, but to do so without presenting an argument as to why your opinions are correct is the act of a moron.

More proper answer would be "How competent is Bush, and if he is competent is he willfully destructive?" You're assuming that it's either one of those two things, and there is much more room for possibility than that.
How would you run the country differently that would be so much better? It's not enough to just bitch

He's just a big dope, a trust fund baby who has bumbled through his life, no real job (by his own admission), who was handed one job after another by his father's buddies, including the Governorship of Texas and the Presidency of the United States. In the mold of Ronald Reagan, he says what they tell him to say, and does what they tell him to do. He is a nonentity, just a figurehead for the UltraHyperObscenely Rich, both Republican and Democrat. All that matters is that he keep the illusion that there is any power that anyone who is not a corporation has in this country.

Why is Bush the worst?
Submitted By: SpiralGuy ( 311 days, 23 hours, 56 minutes ago )
I don't see what makes Bush any worse than any other president in the history of the US. If you believe that Washington and Jefferson and JFK were saints, then you are showing your incompentence. Bush IS just like every president we have ever had - a rich, white male. Other than that, everything else in opinion and conjecture. Some presidents were drunks, some were womanizers, some owned slaves. By no means is Bush a "great" president, but the stain of opinion and folklore has weighed heavily on our views of past presidents....
I don't "clearly" see why Bush is bad. I'm not saying he's good, by any means, but he's no worse than most of our past leaders.

Sad that questions are the only answers to very complex problems. Sad that we are being pounded by biased rhetoric from all sides that is based on relatively unknown and unproven stories full of misinformation missing undeniable facts. We must move toward more factual knowledge before we take a shot in the dark at one or more reasons why the President is, or is not the worlds answer to stupidity or sage perspective. I recall the same disparaging terms used for other presidents on both sides - few have met the test of history or hind site. Stick to undeniable facts and patience and you will know the truth.
