Q: Do you have a cure for the sore throat?
Submitted By: right.h.man, 43 days, 6 hours, 45 minutes ago
I've had a sore throat for a few weeks now. The doctors tell me its just the flu and to gargle with some salt water.
Its not going away however lol. They've done tests and yes it IS just the flu.
I use mouthwash even and it still persists.
I'm willing to try just about anything really. I would really like to stop this pain. I'll try all of the simplest answers first and report on their effectiveness.
Please try not to post duplicate answers... if you see an answer that you want to post, just add a vote to it and you can add a note as well. Thank You

A thought
I use the following and itworks well for me.
Juice of one or two lemons, tablespoon or two (depending on personal taste) and fill with boiling water. The warmth loosens mucus, the honey clears the throat of any plhegm and the honey coats the throat to prevent coughing.

Hot toddy

1
ounces Whiskey
1 ounce Honey
ounce Lemon Juice
2 cloves
small portion of cinamon
3 ounces Water (Hot)
1 ounce Honey
2 cloves
small portion of cinamon
3 ounces Water (Hot)
| If you have a microwave, the easiest way to make this drink is to warm the honey and lemon juice for about half a minute and then to add hot water and the whiskey. Otherwise, we recommend that you stir the honey and lemon juice into extremely warm water, allow it to cool slightly, and add the whiskey. |
