That would be asking for a lot to be forgiven for.

According to the teachings of Jesus...

Although I believe personal hell is temporary despite the fire of hell being eternal, as God is an all consuming fire and eternal, I will detail some of my understanding below.

According to the teachings of Jesus, those that would think of others in hell first will go first. as in the saying about heaven "The last will be first the first last."

Meaning those who consider all others to go first will be the first in heaven as they've been the most generous, and hence most godly. Godly in that they've done as as God does, provides life for all, sun shine on all, rain for all, ect equally, without preference or bias beyond the needs individual vs universal. God judges you according to how you judge others in my experience. "Judge not lest ye be Judged."

Everyone is judged by the universal qualities, and each individual must be judged according to their, God given, ability - If God is a Just God.

The sermon on the mount details this theme especially as well.

That is a portion of my understanding.

See if you can follow this. There is no tooth fairy. There is no Santa Claus. There is no hell..got it. No hell.
Why did Freud get on the list when in fact he wanted to make people better?

Oops! Sorry to tell you this. It always amazes me how little is taught in school these days. Humans have all been contaminated spiritually with a contagion since the beginning, and must be quarantined. The place of quarantine is called hell. There's only one known cure. Of course those who don't believe in hell won't accept it. So, please don't take it personally. It's not a matter of how good or bad you've been. Left untreated you become a monster worse than satan himself. So the quarantine is for you're own good and to protect others. I'm sure you understand it's best for the good of many many others that you be isolated. You can take some comfort in knowing that the quarantine and the sterilization methods are 100% effective. It's your choice to reject the cure of course. We respect that. Thank you!

I do not believe hell to be a location... Rather, it's the difference between our potential, and what we are thinking/acting like, that is measured as our reward/punishment. This is obviously not equal to what we deserve, either direction, heaven or hell. If you do something you shouldn't, you feel bad, something you should, you feel at peace with others, even glad of all...

Parents are the tooth fairy and Santa Claus, who was based on Saint Nicolaus, a real person. So in fact there are many Santa Clauses, and Tooth Fairies - Far more than no to either. Everything we believe in exists to some degree, though perhaps not independant of our imaginations, or our making.

Going to Hell:
People who think they should pick who goes to hell
Those guys that make blisterpacks so hard to open
That homeless guy that is always screaming "Ants! Ants!"

Going to Heaven:
Just me. Heaven is like my own personal tree-fort, and unless you're in my club, you can't come.

Linus going to Hell?
Submitted By: Malcolm ( 125 days, 22 hours, 28 minutes ago )
Ok, Linus is going to Hell?  highly unlikely.

If anything he'll make a new heaven which is free and open source (i dunno).
Then Bill gate will try to copy him with no success, what with the being in hell and all.

Ah yes, the hazard of self-made men and women is believing they don't need others. Torvalds is counted an atheist.

http://www.celebatheists.com/index.php?title=Linus_Torvalds

In the long run, I wonder who will have done more for charity? Gate's with his philanthropies or Torvalds with open source?

Now if Lego or someone ever comes up with modular open source hardware blocks that we can put Linux on ... perhaps we can bring a little heaven to earth. Build your own ipod, or umpc, or parallel arrays, or robots, or machine tools .... with snap on displays and keyboards.
Ahhhh... a tinkerer's heaven!
