I'm interested in martial arts and the one criterion I'm most interested in is increase of stamina. I am looking to be in good physical shape more than defense skills. Which one is the best tailored to provide that?
Please try not to post duplicate answers... if you see an answer that you want to post, just add a vote to it and you can add a note as well. Thank You

What do you mean by Stamina?

There are two main things ppl mean when they say stamina: Muscular Strength, and Aerobic Fitness. If you want to increase aerobic fitness, I imagine few martial arts really have you performing aerobic exercise during training. A coupel of punches then stretching/repeat..not very aerobic. Taebo would be as good as any.
As for muscular strength, they all just use bodyweight as the resistance I guess, so maybe judo or one of the grapling/wrestling arts would generate a muscular adaption.
My suggestion, if you aren't interested in the defense issue (as you said) just build up to 3-4 40 minute jogs per week, and do resistance training (weights/gym/body) twice a week.
