Q: amd athlon x2, or what?

So my lap died on me, meaning its time to buy again. Looking to build a dual core tower, but my question is this: i read that amd athlon x2 is on its very tail end, wait or is it still worth it? I havent built a tower since p2 days, so im a bit out of date for what to buy now.

In my opinion, as well as most review sites it seems, that AMD pretty much always has the best dual core chips out for x86 right now, that may change when Core series comes out from Intel, but I doubt'll change things much more than even them up. Compare prices, and always review for your own purpose/use.
