Q: Why can I pick my own answer?

I can answer a question and pick my own answer. Any idea why this is?

When you run for public office you are allowed to vote for yourself...but only once.

Perhaps if you find the answer yourself, you may want to share that answer with other people. It doesn't seem like you should be able to vote for yourself though, honestly.

and i think the pick is just there for people to add a mark on the answer, like saying it is a good answer, the more "picks" the more popular that answer becomes (for whatever reason)
