Q: 802.1x in Ubuntu

I'm new to Linux, so I installed Ubuntu on my laptop. I go to school at the a href="http://www.it.utah.edu/services/connected/wireless/index.html"U of Utah/a, and they have secure wireless and wired networks that require authentication. For XP, they install SecureW2, and I can get it to work.
For Linux, I guess you're supposed to use a href="http://open1x.sourceforge.net/"Xsupplicant/a. I installed it with apt
