I saw one of these online. You hold it to the outside side of a peephole, and it enables you to see inside the room. They sell from $60-100. If you knew a lot about optics, though, I bet it would be easy to make one yourself, and I can't believe a guide hasn't appeared in any Anarchist Cookbook or similar text file.
