Q: Slightly Annoying File Organization Bug
Submitted By: stupac2, 311 days, 17 hours, 48 minutes ago
For a few weeks now, whenever I save or open a file in any program (Word, Firefox, etc), the list of files and folders are in reverse alphabetical order. Even if I re-sort by name, they return to reverse alphabetical next time I view the folder. I have no idea why this is happening, but it's fairly annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Folder view settings

It sounds like the problem may be your Folder View settings. go to that folder in Windows Explorer, set the settings like you want them then click toolsoptionsview tab then click "apply to all folders". I would reccommend logging off and back on again. This should take care of your problem.

I actually figured this out not long ago.
Browse to the directory in your explorer (not in a File Open dialog). In details or list view, sort the files. Then hold the control button while clicking the X to close the window.
Voila!
