Neuromancer by William Gibson

It's so far before its time that they can't even make a movie about it. This book brought about the birth of an entirely new genre of fiction: cyberpunk (and now post-cyberpunk and others).

I am currently reading that now. It is really dense and complex. A great read, not only exciting, but also insightful, a trait which will most likely be lost in a blockbuster hollywood translation

Book of God in any of its various stages - "Bagavad Gita", "Torah", "Holy Bible", "Koran", "Four Valleys". I also like Plotinus and the accounts of Socrates very well.

I meant the Jewish variant. Some interpret bible only as new testament

Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates

Not a well known book, but written with incredible elegance. It offers a piercing glimpse into the life of it's characters and doesn't waste a single word doing it. The novel is breathtakingly thought provoking.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is my favourite book. It's over 1000 pages long, but once you start reading it you can't put it down. Highly recommended!
