Q: Infocus ScreenPlay 4805 damage

So I was moving this weekend and I dropped my projecter as I was carrying it into the house.
When I plug it in there is a blurry bar at the bottom of the screen. Further investigation reveals that some sort of aperture mechanism is slightly obscuring the bottom part of the image. I popped the front off and found that by wiggling a screw around that I can affect the position of this aperture. It isnt a permanent fix though.
I am a bit wary to open it anymore and experiment before I look for some decent documentation or advice from someone who has more of a clue about this sort of thing than I. It's a longshot but...any advice out there?
