stumping for the Shuffle

If you're going for the minimalist thing, I've been very happy with my Shuffle.  It quite simply does what it's supposed to do and not much more, but it's practically indestructible, has a loooong battery life, and can be used as a flash memory device (for added recursion goodness, you can stick a lightweight Linux distro like Puppy or DSL on there).

The downside would be, obviously, that it has no screen (just got myself a used 3G iPod and realized just how much I missed it), and I also find the USB port charging to be a little awkward with a laptop and even awkwarder with older PCs that only have USB ports on the back.

It does work with some distros of Linux using GNUpod -- I found a nice little walkthrough at http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/walter/geek/ipodshuffle-linux.html.  I'll be on the lookout for Linux native players.
