Q: Tivo shows to ipod

What is the best way to get shows from my tivo to my ipod. I have both a pc and a mac. I can get the .tivo file to my pc, and watch them, but how can I get them to my video ipod. Please help me.

How I convert .tivo files

I use Direct Show Filter Dump (EtiVo) to strip the .tivo encryption and then use Videora iPod Converter to convert the file over to the iPod video format. You can google all the software.

I use it on a mac. Just drag the file to the place indicated. Select the format to be converted to (ipod) and ta da!

Check out SageToiPod (inveteratediy.blogspot.com). Although it was designed to automatically get your SageTV content onto the iPod, he is just finishing up a new version called iPodifier (ipodifier.com) that will accept any video source (including Tivo). It will automagically transcode the video, add it to iTunes and sync your iPod. It even will manage how many shows you want to keep on you iPod.
