The key is not just the biomass of your fuel, but also the mineral elements and a little alcohol to get some kind of reaction started. I don't know the details, I'm not an engineer, but an old trick of the trade is to just dump in about a half can of beer and just toss the can in afterward. You should be ready to roll... well, if you needed roads, that is.
