Ok I'm gonna be honest I don't really like the guy, the whole system just doesn't seem to work... When you think that a country, a superpower such as the United States puts a man like that in charge is a disgrace... I would be so ashamed of my country if that happened here... The debate that he had with Karry I just can't believe two man so different could stand on the same stage... the way he talks and conducts himself is a disgrace to the USA. Anyway I wanted to get a list of the best Bush Screw ups that you can remember. This should be fun :)
Why are Americans so easily swayed by mass media outlets?

The liberal media has managed to entirely sway the masses into believing the Bush Amdministration is inept. Obviously this is entirely fiction.

Why is the government allowed to work in secret?

This question has puzzled me for years as there is not a single accepted theoretical or practical explanation for it.
It legally works through executive priviledge, but the benefits of this practice are anecdotal at best. The relationship between political decision-making and actual security, which is police, investigative and otherwise ground work, is hardly existant so considerations of national security are tenuous at best. Given the track record of history, granting benefit of the doubt to politicians is close to madness, yet all our political systems share this custom.
I have heard of two accepted justifications in political theory (not by just browsing, I studied the stuff):
- Tradition, hardly important
- It is not easy to speak frankly when accountability is mandatory ( i.e. when people ask question as to why you made such a decision that affected the lives of millions)
That latter justification was repeated by Bush lately regarding the confidentiality of his conversations with his staff. It is the main justification through which decision-making is privately carried out. The theoretical justifications are as poor as George Bush was defending the practical ones.
Can anyone actually find a justification that does not defy simply everyday logic like the two accepted upon by political theorists?
