PHP is simple to learn, and many of its components can be applied to other languages.

There's a big difference between scripting languages and programming languages and PHP is not a programming language. :)

You have no idea what you're talking about. Have you even programmed in PHP? It's a dynamic object oriented programming language. It's advantage is that it can be easily used as a scripting language. Just because it can be a scripting language doesn't mean you should undermine it's real power.

I've found PHP clean and relatively easy to pick-up.  Furthermore, there are plenty of PHP developers that you can either collaborate with or outsource to for any web project you're working on.

It should be easy to do powerfull things. Easy to remember syntax and keywords is very important.
