Offline boredom solutions? (winXP laptop)
Submitted By: Mace (19)
So.. yeah. I've got a laptop and I'm running out of fun stuff to do (not necessarily games, but simulation programs, drawing programs like ASCII art studio too) while there's no internet access available (believe it or not, my town isn't saturated in wifi :P), so if anyone has a few solutions it'd be greatly appreciated.

Best photo album organizer app
Submitted By: Wouter (6)
Whats the best application to organize your foto's?
You have Adobe Photoshop Album 2
But there's another app that lets you tag 1 foto in a place for my photo's, if another person is on it you can tag it for that person also. For a specific location, for an accasion.. Really organized
Perhaps anyone here uses this? I lost it during a format. Or perhaps someone can give me a better app :o)

Is there an equivelant to MacSpin for Windows XP?
Submitted By: rman666 (18)
MacSpin was Mac application that let you enter 3D data and it would plot it in 3D in a cube; you could then rotate or spin the cube in different directions so you could better visualize the data. Is there anything like this available for Windows XP. An Open Source application would be most appreciated.

Automate program installs (windows)
Submitted By: eggo (2)
Is there a somewhat painless method of automating multiple program installs in Win9x/NT? I've seen bundles like "hitman pro" that allow installing packs of programs with almost no user interaction, clicking Next, etc automaticly and I'm looking to do something similar. How are these done? I've used several macro suites, which seem to fit the bill, but must be installed themselves before they can be used, often negating any time that might be saved by automating the rest of the process. What I'm looking for is a way to pack lots of programs into a single exe and have them install one after another without any intervention. Anyone have a suggestion?

How does Opera Browser figure out the URL for Double Arrow forward?
Submitted By: gorndog (2)
When using some sites, such as Digg.com and Google.com, my Opera browser already knows what the next page will be, and when I press Ctrl-Right or click on the double arrow (">>") toolbar button, the browser goes to the next page.
My question is, how does Opera figure out what the URL for the next page is?
(This is different than hitting the back button and then having the "next" page be known from history ... Opera knows this even without having visited the "next" page yet.).
