Q: Freeware mp3 to midi conversion?

Is there a freeware program that can convert an mp3 to midi AND split it into various instruments automatically? Or is there a freeware program that allows one to convernt mp3 to midi, and ANOTHER one that allows one to assign instruments to specific notes within a midi?

Maybe make it a three step process, with the first step being to create a multi track version of a song from the mp3. Then you convert each track to midi. Then you combine them into one midi with each track assigned an instrument. So the first question now is, what is a cheap and easy way to break an mp3 down into multiple tracks by instrument? Is there a free audio sorting machine that I can feed mp3s into?
