you prety much stuck with 2 choice either pay for dreamweaver or be stuck with nvu. Dreamweaver is lightyears away, but it'll cost you

Microsoft Expression

I use Dreamweaver 8 now. It's definitely more stable than previous versions of Dreamweaver, especially with regards to the WSYIWYG editor. As stated though, it does cost money. One thing you might want to keep on your radar is Microsoft's Expression suite. Part of the suite is a web design application which is meant to rival Dreamweaver. The software is not available yet, but Microsoft is offering free pre-release demos of the Graphic Designer (think Photoshop) and Interactive Designer (think Flash) applications. MS Front Page is good for beginners but if you want some power behind it, Macromedia's dreamweaver is excellent.

Not only does it produce fairly clean code, but it offers a great way to manage your files, check links and resources and get everything organized.
